The review about this product

A very fine meticulous melodic offering, aural spring water for thirsty ears. For me it has all sorts of echoes, all good; of portishead, gypsy kings (really, track 3 could be played in a Mexican resteraunt without the clientelle blinking); massive attack; Roger Waters (for the samples, as well as the subject matter); afro celt sound system; catetonia (for some of the female vocals). And they are only the echoes - I cannot begin to describe the primary sound. Sufficiently good to motivate me to travel three hours to hear him live, less than four days after first playing the CD ... somewhat motivational. Very refreshing to hear what I presume to be a Hindi influence; bar one (mostly unplayed) Ravi Shanker CD, this is probably my first encounter with music having a distinct Asian influence, and I'm very keen for more. As fusion, clearly it works for me. As head fodder, it also works: Mr. S is caught between the loss of the culture of the India of his parents generation and the lack of acceptance and sometimes hostility of sections of anglo-saxon culture. If its any consolation, he'd always be welcome to drop around to my house for a cup of tea. If I were you, I'd take the risk and buy the CD without any further hesitation. You can always flame me if disappointed.
