Its a review about this product
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program (What's this?) "A Positive Life" is a book written by Methodist pastor Shane Stanford. He became HIV positive in his teens from hemophilia treatments, and his story is one of triumph against all odds. He has married, had several children, and worked dilligently in his profession while struggling mightily with health, relationship, and spiritual challenges, including depression and infidelity. Despite all of these compelling and inspiring components of his story, this book just didn't touch me. There were several passages that I found really moving and compelling, but I just never fully engaged. I imagine it took tremendous courage to write this autobiography, and I applaud Pastor Stanford and his wife for their honesty. However, for me, this book just didn't move me. I just felt like there was this really mellow pastor-speak about grace and love, whereas for myself I am more volatile and extreme in my cries, prayers, and feelings towards God. That is perhaps the core issue here, it seems very specific to his religious heritage in its language, and I couldn't bridge the gap. I really felt at the end that I didn't know Shane Stanford, and he was holding a lot back despite sharing an enormous amount of personal detail.
